Anthony Mackie hints at brutal deaths in Avengers: Doomsday

As Avengers: Doomsday gears up for its highly anticipated 2026 premiere, Anthony Mackie is hinting at some serious heartbreak for Marvel fans.

Speaking to Collider, the Captain America: Brave New World star revealed that the upcoming MCU blockbuster pulls no punches—saying flat out that “everyone is expendable.”

Mackie teased the film’s high-stakes narrative and jaw-dropping final act, calling it a story that “pushes the boundaries” and sets the stage for a massive shift in the Marvel universe. He emphasized that Avengers: Doomsday builds to a major cliffhanger, promising the continuation of the saga in a bold new direction.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, who previously helmed Infinity War and Endgame, Doomsday is expected to carry similar emotional weight. Given the Russos’ history of killing off major characters—like Iron Man, Black Widow, Loki, and Gamora—fans should probably brace for more permanent goodbyes this time around.

The film features a star-studded cast including Chris Hemsworth, Florence Pugh, Tom Hiddleston, Simu Liu, Pedro Pascal, Robert Downey Jr., and many others. Marvel even hyped the lineup with a five-hour video revealing 27 character chairs—leaving the internet buzzing with theories.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to release in theaters on May 1, 2026. With Mackie warning that “no one is safe,” it sounds like this could be one of the MCU’s most intense chapters yet.
