A rumour that first spread in early 2021, alleging a relationship between rapper Kanye West and beauty mogul Jeffree Star, has resurfaced after a cryptic tweet from Star sparked renewed speculation online.
On April 22, 2025, Star tweeted, “Ok f*ck it.. The rumors were true,” reigniting social media discussion about the long-dismissed story. The timing of Star’s tweet has raised eyebrows, as it follows a controversial week for West, who recently released a track called “Cousin” and shared disturbing details about his past on social media.
The original claim originated from TikTok influencer Ava Louise, who had previously gained notoriety for viral antics such as the “Coronavirus Challenge.” Louise implied Kanye was involved with a “very famous male beauty guru,” and internet sleuths quickly pointed to Star due to both celebrities’ connections to Wyoming and a 2009 lyric in one of Star’s songs referencing West.
Despite its viral reach, the rumour was firmly denied by Star in a 2021 YouTube video titled “Addressing The Kanye Situation,” where he stated, “This is so weird… this is so stupid. Let me just say this one time … I like very tall men.” He clarified they had never met or hung out.
The story resurfaced again in interviews, including with US Weekly and on Logan Paul’s podcast, where Star continued to deny the rumour. He cited the TikTok post as fabricated and highlighted the absurdity of the claim gaining traction. Louise herself later admitted to inventing the rumour, stating it was completely made up.
However, Star’s latest tweet has thrown the internet back into speculation, with fans questioning whether he was referencing the old rumour or merely courting attention. There has been no official comment or confirmation from West or his representatives.
