New Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena addressed the crowd in Las Vegas during “Raw” after WrestleMania, mocking fans before Randy Orton appeared from behind and hit him with a sudden RKO to signal a new challenge ahead of WWE Backlash in St. Louis.
John Cena opened Monday’s episode of WWE Raw in Las Vegas by declaring himself “the last real champion” and demanded to be introduced as “the greatest of all time, the never-seen 17.”
Fresh off his victory over Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania, Cena wasted little time in turning on the fans, criticising them for now cheering him after years of mixed reactions. He said the crowd’s support came too late and described their relationship as dysfunctional.
Playing into the unpredictable atmosphere of the traditional “Raw after ‘Mania,” Cena taunted the audience, urging them to hijack the show. In response, fans chanted “We are sorry,” prompting Cena to break the fourth wall and claim those at home shouldn’t believe the apology.
He then pointed to the big screen, where the number 36 was shown — a reference to his retirement tour dates for 2025. Cena reminded fans of the shows they had already missed and posed with his championship belt, asking the crowd to take his picture.
But just as Cena continued his verbal tirade, Randy Orton appeared from behind.
The St. Louis native delivered an RKO “out of nowhere,” dropping the champion in the middle of the ring. Orton then posed on the turnbuckle, sending a clear message to Cena and teasing a clash at WWE Backlash next month in his hometown.
The moment closed the segment with a stunned crowd reacting to the sudden shift in momentum, as Orton reasserted himself into the title picture.
