The city experienced extreme heat on Saturday as hot desert winds led to intense conditions throughout the day.

Despite humidity levels dropping to just 15%, the weather resembled a moderate heatwave, with the mercury soaring past 39°C. Similar hot weather is expected today (Sunday), according to meteorologists.

Following the dissipation of a recent western weather system affecting the country, Karachi has been gripped by rising temperatures. On Saturday, the city endured hot and dry conditions with northwesterly winds dominating throughout the day. The scorching sun, combined with dry desert winds, intensified the heat, creating near heatwave conditions despite the low humidity.

According to the Meteorological Department, Karachi recorded a maximum temperature of 39.1°C, marking a 1.6°C increase from the previous day. Humidity levels remained at 15%. The ongoing heatwave is expected to persist until Thursday, with little relief in sight.
