Roman Reigns has dropped a surprising hint about his future in WWE, just days before his highly anticipated Triple Threat match at WrestleMania 41.
The Tribal Chief is set to face CM Punk and Seth Rollins in a thrilling contest at the annual event in Las Vegas, but it seems he may be nearing the end of his wrestling career.
Speaking in an interview with Vanity Fair, Reigns, 39, revealed that his current WWE contract is nearing its conclusion, with less than two years left. “After I finish the contract that I’m in, we probably got another year or two max,” he said. “Then it’s time to take on a less physical form of entertainment.”
The six-time WWE Champion has significantly reduced his in-ring appearances since signing a lucrative new deal in 2022. In 2024, Reigns competed in only six matches, marking a noticeable shift in his schedule.
With 1,373 career matches under his belt, it’s clear that the veteran may be ready to explore other avenues.
Reigns’ mention of a “less physical form of entertainment” suggests a potential move towards acting, something he has already ventured into. He starred in The Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw alongside his cousin, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, furthering his Hollywood connections.
Although his comments may come as a shock, they align with his past reflections on retirement. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Reigns considered leaving WWE when creative changes seemed difficult to implement.
“I was prepared to walk away if we weren’t going to be able to do what I felt was right for me creatively at the time,” he admitted in the interview.
In the same interview, Reigns also revealed he was a Donald Trump supporter. Reigns, a registered Democrat, described himself as a centrist and emphasized the importance of strong and competent leadership.
He praised Trump’s extensive background in entertainment, business, and politics, stating, “He’s got a vast history and a huge background. He’s been in entertainment. He’s been in big business, politics.”
